FilmFaced MiniCast Episode 1

9 10 2010

-Ryan Famulari

I know you’ve all been waiting patiently, but wait no longer. Here is our first MiniCast. FilmFaced MiniCasts are short podcasts – usually thirty minutes in length – where we click record and just talk. In this inaugural MiniCast we gush over the masterpiece that is The Zombie Diaries and slowly wander into a brief spoiler-less discussion about The Social Network. I hope you have as much fun listening to this as we had recording it. Enjoy and be sure to join in on the discussion. Put your FilmFace on.

FilmFaced Podcast 4 – Dexter Review/Preview

25 09 2010

-Ryan Famulari

PODCAST CONTAINS MAJOR SPOILERS

Dexter Season 5 is upon us and we couldn’t have cut it any closer with the release of this episode. Thankfully we were able to round every one up and record this. Even if it was at the eleventh hour. We hope you share the same enthusiasm the FilmFaced Team has for this outstanding Showtime series. If not, give this episode a listen, and hopefully our excitement proves to be contagious. In this episode we explore our likes and dislikes from the past four seasons, express our love for the exquisite Julie Benz (aka Rita) and examine where we think Season 5 will take us. If you didn’t see the disclaimer on top here’s another reminder. This episode has some major spoilers, being that it is an in-depth discussion of the show. So use caution when tackling this podcast. Hope you enjoy.

Music: Blood Theme by Daniel Licht and Dexter Main Title by Rolfe Kent

FilmFaced Podcast 3 – Scott Pilgrim vs. the World

16 08 2010

– Ryan Famulari

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World hit theaters Friday and the FilmFaced Team was there to see if it lived up to all the “internet hype” we have been bombarded with these past few weeks. Actually, it wasn’t much of a team.  We were more of a dynamic duo. And we’re not really that dynamic either. But, anyway, getting back to Scott Pilgrim. Anthony and I fill you in on what we thought about the film in this episode, as well as discuss the topics of theater preferences and ticket prices. It’s an interesting discussion, so listen to the entire episode if you want to join in. And tell us if you think a “lesser quality” theater is worth a five dollar admission. So sit back, relax and enjoy the third installment of the FilmFaced Podcast. And remember to go see Scott Pilgrim if you haven’t already.

Episode note: Please excuse my stupidity towards the end of this episode. I mention that I’m happy that Scott Pilgrim was not in 3D and then go on to contradict myself in a long conversation about how I feel the movie would have benefitted from being in 3D. Yea, I know. No excuse. But hopefully you get a laugh at my expense when you hear it.

FilmFaced Podcast 2 – The Other Guys

7 08 2010

-Ryan Famulari

Welcome back to the FilmFaced Podcast. This episode is devoted to the latest Will Ferrell flick, The Other Guys. The first part of the episode is a review of the film, while the later portion is a discussion of where the movie ranks amongst the best and worst of Ferrell’s career. The episode is laden with spoilers for this film – as well as spoilers for Zombieland – so be warned. I will also go ahead here and apologize for the hectic, sometimes loud, nature of this episode. We will be introducing two other writers to the podcast in this episode and five people tend to make for a crowded room. We hope the episode is enjoyable, nonetheless, and we look forward to your comments. Without further ado, here is our review of The Other Guys:

Music: Believe by The Bravery and Reptilia by The Strokes

FilmFaced Podcast 1 – The Pilot

1 08 2010

– Ryan Famulari

The wait is over. It’s finally here- the very first FilmFaced Podcast Episode. We’re taking the time in this episode- The Pilot– to introduce ourselves and discuss our favorite television shows and movies. You’ll be hearing from Anthony, Kevin and me- Ryan Famulari- in this first installment. We hope you enjoy our ramblings and encourage you to speak up and let us know how you feel about all our opinions. And if there is anyone out there who can explain to Kevin why The Hangover was considered such a great comedy, please fill him in on that, too. So enjoy The Pilot. We hope you come back for more.

Episode note: Apologies to Jeremy Davies- during our Saving Private Ryan discussion we referenced him as being the medic, but he was, in fact, the translator. Giovanni Ribisi played the medic.
